Classic Rugrats games return in Retro Rewind Collection

Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection is now available, bringing six classic Rugrats games back for Switch, PlayStation and PC via Steam. The collection includes PlayStation titles Rugrats: Search for Reptar, Rugrats: Studio Tour and Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, alongside handheld releases The Rugrats Movie, Rugrats: Time Travelers and Rugrats: Castle Capers.

This is not a prestige restoration of some forgotten masterpiece, and that is kind of the point. Collections like this preserve the weird licensed-game layer of gaming history: the games kids rented, played, half-remembered and then lost to old hardware.

Limited Run has also added the usual quality-of-life extras, including a digital museum, scans of manuals and box art, a music player, retro filters, rewind and save-anywhere functionality. That makes the package more useful than simply dumping ROMs into a wrapper. For 90s and early-2000s Nicktoon fans, this is nostalgia with training wheels. For preservation fans, it is another small but welcome rescue.
